Birth Anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), 21 st of April
This year marks the 1434th anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad. Commemorating the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad became a sign of one's love for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
The life of the Holy Prophet was intended to be the model for mankind. Muslims endeavour in all their doings to reflect their accordance with His teachings of the brotherhood of Man, the oneness in our origin, our basic and intrinsic worth and equality.
To commemorate the birthday, which is basically gathering people together, reciting parts of the Holy Book Qur'an, narrating stories about the Prophet's birth and the signs that accompanied it, then serving food, and afterwards departing are some practices that are carried out to venerate the status of the Prophet and expressing joy for his honorable birth.
